Introducing… the Food Systems Learning Circle

A new education platform from Food Secure Canada offering accessible, justice-centered training for those working to transform our food systems.

We have so much knowledge across our movements — a resource that, if we mobilize it, can make us all leaders. That’s why we’re launching the Food Systems Learning Circle: a training program rooted in our communities and funded by the movement itself.

Whether you’re an activist, professional, researcher, or student, the Learning Circle equips you with the knowledge and tools to challenge systemic inequities, strengthen food sovereignty, and build a just, sustainable future for all.

It’s also very important to us that we value this knowledge properly — and the time it takes to share it — while ensuring the work is sustainable. That’s why we price these workshops, while offering solidarity pricing so that everyone can participate.

What’s On Now: Who’s Growing Food Sovereignty in Canada?

We’re kicking off with an extraordinary three-part series on food sovereignty — and an exceptional lineup of speakers to go with it.

This series brings together visionary changemakers from across the food movement: farmers, researchers, policy experts, and grassroots activists. Together, we’ll explore the seeds, new growths, and fruits of food sovereignty in Canada — its history, politics, and practices on the ground.

Workshop 1 — Planting the Seeds: Introducing Food Sovereignty in Canada Wednesday, April 15, 2026 | 12:00–2:00 PM ET
