Supporting an equitable and empowered food movement for 20 years
Food Secure Canada is an alliance of organizations and individuals all across Canada working together to advance food security and food sovereignty.
Acting as a forum for diverse voices, we encourage conversation on challenges around food issues, advocate for policy improvements, and strengthen the capacity of communities towards a future where everyone everywhere has access to good, healthful food, which honours both our relationships to the earth and to each other.
In our journey so far, we’ve helped shape important food policies and programs in Canada, and we’re committed to keep pushing for more just, healthy, and sustainable food systems.
We facilitate and enable work in communities throughout Canada on historic, traditional, and many unceded territories of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. Food Secure Canada respects and affirms the inherent and treaty rights of all Indigenous Peoples across this land. We will continue to honour the commitments to self-determination and sovereignty we have made to Indigenous Nations and Peoples.
