Farewell Rachel!

Over the past three years, Rachel Cheng has been a key member of the Food Secure Canada team, most recently as Communications Manager as well as spearheading key campaigns such as Eat Think Vote 2019. She has provided invaluable leadership on many events, particularly our most recent large-scale event, Cultivating Change: a just transition to a regenerative food system, which took place in November 2020 and involved significant strategic and operational risks.

A committed food activist with a passion for public health as well as the interface of race and food and the well-being of food service workers in the restaurants of Montréal, Rachel has brought hard work, dedication and creativity to everything she has touched in the organization. She has contributed to countless other projects and events and is a colleague we have always been able to lean on, through thick and thin. We thank Rachel for her boundless energy, talent for organization and delivering under challenging circumstances. We wish her the best as she moves on to work on the Nourish project, supported by the McConnell Foundation and will particularly miss her wonderful cooking and baking!
