Becoming a volunteer with Food Secure Canada

Food Secure Canada is a pan-Canadian alliance of organizations and individuals working together to advance food security and food sovereignty through three inter-locking goals: zero hunger, healthy and safe food, and sustainable food systems.

FSC is offering volunteers passionate about food policy the ability to contribute to its dynamic activities. In particular, we want to build a team of motivated volunteers to help us with communications and research activities. If you want to promote a healthy, just and sustainable food system in Canada while developing skills and team spirit, we warmly invite you to join our team!

How to get involved?

Volunteers will be selected based on their skills and motivation. All volunteers will collaborate closely with a member of FSC’s staff.

Volunteering activities will preferably take place in a team in our office in downtown Montreal but can also be done remotely.

The tasks of a volunteer translator

Staying true to our mandate to be a bilingual organization, we strive to translate all of our web material, newsletters and other communications with our networks. We need translation mostly from English to French. We are looking for people who have some experience with translation and / or excellent writing skills in one or the other language. Time commitments range between occasional to regular weekly commitments (3 - 8 hours).
