Working Groups
Members of Food Secure Canada are encouraged to join internal networks or working groups to discuss issues in their area of concern and make proposals for action to the organization.

Food Secure Canada supports the following groups by hosting regular teleconference meetings. In the near future we will be providing web-based information, forums and more!
- Provincial Food Networks - participants of this group are leaders in provincial or territorial networks.
- Northern Food Network - participants are all interested in advancing food security or food sovereignty in rural and remote communities.
- Chilren and Food Network - participants in this group are seeking to advance children and food issues including marketing to children, school nutrition and education, and more at provincial and federal levels.
Autonomous groups adopted as working groups for Food Secure Canada at the 2008 Assembly include:
- The People's Food Policy Project - a pan-Canadian network of citizens and organizations that created Canada’s first food sovereignty policy.
- The Canadian Biotechnology Action Network (CBAN) – Working Group on biotechnology and genetic engineering Action on Biotechnology: direction and action proposals to respond to GM issues and labelling
- MetroAg Alliance on Urban Agriculture – Urban and peri-urban agriculture
- Food Security Policy Group – Working Group on International issues
- Seed Policy Group – currently developing, may become a formal working group of FSC at a later time
