Growing Change in Northern Manitoba
May 29, 2014 1:00 - 2:00 PM EDT
Join us for a webinar to learn how the Government of Manitoba is working in partnership with Food Matters Manitoba to increase access to healthy food in Northern Manitoba.
This webinar will provide an overview of the Northern Healthy Foods Initiative (NHFI). NHFI is a collaborative effort between five provincial departments and the northern Manitoba food security community which includes Food Matters Manitoba as a partner. NHFI’s vision is to support access to healthy food. This webinar will cover issues facing northern communities as it relates to access to healthy foods; provide the logic underpinning the NHFI – including the program structure and delivery model; and highlight project successes as presented by Food Matters Manitoba.
Chloe Donatelli, Acting Northern Liaison, Food Matters Manitoba
Chloe lives in Winnipeg and has worked since the Fall of 2012 on the northern team at Food Matters Manitoba, one of the five partners under the Province of Manitoba's Northern Healthy Foods Initiative. Through this work, she has had the opportunity to support thirteen different communities spread across Manitoba's north with their local food initiatives. Her favourite part of her job is the great deal of her time she gets to spend visiting communities throughout the year, and helping to support the important work they are doing towards food self-sufficiency in Manitoba's north.
